Anastasia Nicole is the Marketing Community Manager at Spinrilla, the discovery platform for independent and emerging hip-hop, living in Atlanta, GA. Her career in fashion, culture and technology, was inspired by her love for spreading the word about innovative brands dedicated to having a lasting positive impact on their industry. She attended Louisiana State University where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Textiles and Apparel Merchandising with a minor in Marketing. Before moving into music tech she used her degree in fashion as the Marketing Manager at Softwear Automation, an Atlanta based robotics firm disrupting the sewn goods industry.
Five years ago she wishes she knew that life is as much about the journey as it is about the destination, so her advice to anyone interested in her unconventional career path would be to see every experience as an opportunity to learn and grow. The job, the man, and the wardrobe will always come, it is your duty to be ready when they do. See every experience along the way as a means of strengthening the foundational, managerial, and leadership skills you need to be the big boss with the big check.
Anastasia believes encouraging women and students to explore careers in the fashion and tech space is important because the possibilities are endless! Both fashion and technology touch our lives in so many way, from the clothes we buy and how we buy them to how they fit and can magically go from the internet to our door in under a week. She is currently working on transitioning back to fashion and retail by re-launching her consulting practice working with brands to identify and implement strategies designed to move the industry into the 21st century.
