Meet Charlyn Okigbo, a Senior Beauty Buyer at Amazon.com, living in Seattle. Her career in fashion tech was inspired by her time as a Digital Strategist at Saks Fifth Avenue. She attended the University of Pennsylvania, and studied Economics, eventually going back to school for her MBA at Kellogg School of Management.
Five years ago, she wishes she knew the power of using visualization tools to manifest your dreams into reality -- simply put, the power of a vision board! With that in mind, her advice to anyone interested in her career path would be to visualize your dreams, write out your plan, put in the necessary work, network, and the universe will activate the rest *law of attraction*!
She believes encouraging women and students to explore careers in the fashion and tech space is important because women, particularly women of color, are underrepresented in fashion, tech and fashion tech. The more diverse talent we can employ and retain, the better for both the companies and customers alike. She is currently working on serving as a brand ambassador for a recently launched, game-changing beauty brand that caters to women of color, Bolden. You can find out more about her life and career by following @charlynn306 or the the beauty brand she promotes @boldenusa on instagram!
